Garden 2011

We had a strange summer this year. The weather stayed quite cool with temperatures staying in the upper 70s and lower 80s. It was nice for some things such as peas and not as nice for other things such as tomatoes. Actually we got all the tomatoes off our plants that we wanted, there are just so many still on the plants that never had a chance to ripen since fall came soon after they finally got around to ripening up. Everything was so late this year! All the Fruits and vegetables seemed to come on about a month late! It's November as of today and I still have zucchini and cucumbers growing!

Our little bean plants. The deer ate those:( Luckily they pretty much left everything else alone.
6/29/11 Kilynn's favorite spot to be for a while was right here between the spinach (bolted) and the peas. I'd pick several pea pods, open them for her and set them beside her so she could eat and eat while I worked on other things in the yard.

We grew some awesome broccoli this year. We also have an awesome produce model to show off the first one of the season!

Kilynn modeling the first red potato!

We grew this garlic over the winter, harvested it in July and hung it like this to dry. It's now hanging in our garage and I can just walk down there and cut one off when I need another garlic!

We tried to get Kilynn to model our first cabbage of the year, but she wasn't in the mood. Oh well, I thought Joseph did a great job anyway.
I'm just now getting around to editing and hopefully publishing this post and it's Nov 20. I wanted to report that we picked our last produce on the 12th. Joseph picked about five decent looking cucumbers!

Wow, great garden and garden modeling!:) So you grow garlic over the winter? I have never grown garlic, but would like to. You'll have to tell me more about it sometime.

Way to get some posts, up! I have enjoyed reading them.
