Bookworm

Kilynn loves her books! It's quite nice because she usually has at least one hour of quiet time every day where she will disappear into her room and get out all her books. I leave them in a couple boxes on the floor so that they are easily accessible for her and easy to clean up for me. Sometimes, if I want her to settle down and have some quiet time for awhile, all I have to do is remind her of something in her room she might want to play with. I'll say something like, "Where's your baby doll? I think she wants you to hold her!" She'll go to her room for her doll, but she'll often get distracted by her books and spend the next hour or so with them. I keep a pile of her favorite books on a shelf to her right in this chair. She always looks so cozy sitting in that chair with her blankie and books. That's her blankie sticking out from underneath the book.
This next picture was taken beginning of May (she was 17 mos.) She had long book reading sessions back then too and had for a while, but I can't remember how young she was when she became so interested in her books. Her other favorite spot to read books is behind the chair. It makes a nice little room because the crib is right beside the chair. I now leave a box of books back there for her too.

This post totally reminded me of Kami when she was that age. She had a chair like that in her room and she used to read her books behind it for hours at a time, too. That's so funny!
