funny girl
March 17Kilynn was just playing on the living room floor and suddenly got up to look warily down our unlit hallway. With wide eyes she asked, "Are there spooky monsters?" This made me laugh because I don't know where she learned about "spooky monsters" and I don't know what was going through her mind during her play to make her suddenly think of it. I try not to teach her about monsters so we don't have to deal with her not wanting to go to bed at night because of them. I turned on the light in the hallway for her and then she said, "I not scared. I brave." This made me laugh harder because I didn't know she knew the word brave either. She surprises me with things like this all the time and it makes me wonder where she picks things up. I'm with her basically 24/7 so you'd think I'd know about everything that goes into her mind! She has been going around the house checking under and behind things mumbling about spooky monsters and being brave, but she still seems pretty worried to me. I keep laughing at how cute she is and every now and then she stops and turns to me, shakes a finger at me and firmly says,"No laughing Mom! I looking for spooky monsters!"

Before I post this I thought I'd share something Kilynn did today that was funny. Joseph taught a lesson in church today for the young men. After church we were giving one of those young men a ride home. I asked Joseph what he taught his lesson on and Joseph turned to the young man and asked him to answer my question. The poor kid was put on the spot and couldn't remember. He mumbled things about the activity they did along with the lesson, but couldn't think of the topic. Joseph was jokingly giving him a hard time about it as I turned to Kilynn and asked her what she learned about in nursery. She was quick to respond very plainly, "I learned about... bodies." I didn't know if this was true or not until we were getting her out of the car and saw the paper she had colored in nursery. Sure enough, the paper had pictures of things we can do to take care of our bodies! Joseph really laid into the young man then telling him that even a two year old could remember what her lesson was on!

What a little cutie smarty pants! That boy will think twice before he rides home with you guys again, what with being shown up by a two year old and all!;)
So have you watched Dispicable Me with her? I love the part when he's leaving the room at night and pops his head back in to say, "Oh, and there's probably something in your closet!" and then he quickly leaves the room. Kilynn would probably love that part.
She sounds like quite the character. I hope everything is going well with her and Marjorie!
