Kilynn turned 15 months last week and I need to record some of the things she does and words she is saying. The amount of learning going on in that brain is picking up faster at this age and she is surprising me everyday. I've been wanting to do a post like this ever since she was 13 months but I've been too upset because I took the perfect video of her doing all her animal sounds and words and tricks and then it wouldn't let me upload it.
Animals sounds she knows: Lion, Bear, Tiger (all say the same thing) Cow, Horse, Dog, Cat, Turkey, Sheep, Goat, Duck, Snake and Monkey. For the Monkey, we tried teaching her to say Ooh-ah-ah, but instead she always says Uh-Oh-Oh
Words that anyone would recognize: Hi, Bye-Bye, Daddy, Mamma, Cheese, Apple, Peaches, Shoes, Baby, Book, Eyes, Glasses.
Words that only Joseph and I would recognize: Highchair, Hat, Piu (says while getting diaper changed,) Ball, Milk, Blankie, All gone, All done (holds hands out palm up,) Please and Thank You.
She started saying please and thank you last week while helping me unload the bottom rack of the dishwasher. She loves this job and is ready and willing to come help even when I'm loading:) For unloading though, she is actually a good helper. I don't have to bend over to grab dishes from the bottom rack anymore. It's pretty cute to see her grab a plate and hold it up as high as she can to give it to me. The plate is so big compared to her, that all you see is her little hands clutching it. The rest of her body from my perspective is hidden. Anyway... Every time she hands me something I say "Thank You!" Therefore, she also started saying thank you every time she hands me something. All last week, the only time she would say "thank you" was when she was handing something to someone else. This morning, however, something finally clicked. I handed her a graham cracker and she said thank you. I just handed her a toy and she did it again! Her version of thank you is actually "Kee Coo" in a high pitched sing song sort of way. The word "Please" came about because for the last two weeks, she has been going through a very unbearably loud screaming phase. We have been dealing with this in a couple different ways, one of which is to get her to use words more. When she wants something, we've taught her to say please instead of pointing at it and screeching at the top of her lungs. The only problem with her saying please though, is that it is going to be so hard to refuse her now. Her screaming has gotten so much better. It's funny to watch her think through things. She will start to scream and realize we aren't paying any attention, and then she'll get quite and say "pees."

Kilynn is our little sunshine. She has such a fun and cheery personality. She has added so much to our family and we can't imagine what life was like before we had her.
